How can I get my essay onto my computer?

I started my essay in school about a week ago and I didn't finish it, so I printed it out and brought it home. I am in a rush and I was wondering if there was someway to get it onto my computer without having to retype the whole thing and I already tried scanning it but it didn't come out right. Thanks!
