Why can't i connect to google?

All of a sudden there are a few websites I can't connect with. Google, one of my local newspapers that I read every day online, and my own internet provider's website. Windows is telling me there is no problem but I cannot connect at all to at least these three websites and it all happened at the same time. I've tried retyping the website name in my browser but that doesn't help. Any ideas? Thanks.
