I have bought the ipad 2 but i can't connect the wifi to my home router.?

When i type in the password, it says it can't join and dismisses it. I know it's the right password because i also use it for my phone. I've retyped it about ten times and so i know i'm not mispelling the password. I've tried all i can think off at the moment. Any help would be great :)
